I just want to preface this by saying that I hate surprises. There’s just something about not knowing what’s going on especially when it’s something that directly involves you, you know? When my boyfriend told me that he was planning a birthday party for me, I thought, “how sweet!”. Then, he mentioned that everything was going to be a surprise and I got nervous. I really appreciate him for taking the time to get my friends and family together (I know that wasn’t an easy feat) and coordinating my surprise party.
It was a small gathering at Bonefish Grill. My parents, siblings, grandma, and few closest friends were there. On the way to the restaurant, I was a little irritable. It seemed like it was so far away! Come to find out, I was just a bit hangry lol. Once we got there though, I couldn’t stop smiling. Everything was so perfect! We had our own personal photographer, a beautiful (and very delicious) cake, and the gifts were amazing too!! I got a lot of my favorite things: stationary, a Dunkin’ gift card, sweaters, and an Apple Watch (maybe I’ll do a review on it later). As I’m typing this, I’m hoping you all can sense my excitement lol. That was just a really joyful day for me. I’d be remiss for not bringing this up, but the day of my birthday, my boss threw a mini party for me. We went to the closest bakery and got cupcakes; it was the sweetest thing ever. I honestly love my job because I can tell that they truly care about their research assistants.
