Studying for the MCAT Week 4 | Good news– this week I stayed on top of my MCAT study plan! It was definitely rough having to do that, catch up on last week’s topics, and stay on top of school, all in the middle of moving! According to my calendar, I have my first full-length exam scheduled for November 3rd. That’s just to see where I stand with the content. I should be done with content review by November 21st. After that, I plan to take a full-length exam every week leading up to test day (January 18th!!). I’m a little nervous, but I’m so ready to put this test behind me.
Topic covered during week 4
- Biology– the nervous system
- Biochemistry– nonenzymatic proteins and function
- Organic Chemistry– alcohols and ethers
- Physics– thermodynamics
- Behavioral Sciences– cognition and language
- General Chemistry– chemical kinetics

Goals for week 5
- stay on schedule
- continue to use AAMC material
- continue to use videos (find my MCAT playlist here)
One more thing to note on the AAMC flashcards, they’re not really flashcards in a sense. They’re in the style of multiple-choice questions, for every question you get wrong it gives you an explanation. I’ve been writing down the explanations for questions I got wrong and for the ones where I just got lucky. To my understanding, you are able to reset the flashcards and questions bank, but I wouldn’t suggest that you fly through them. I’ve been taking my time to carefully read each question and their answer choices. I’ll continue to make weekly updates and I’m so happy to have this space where I’m able to share my progress with you.
